A classic case of small town boy goes to the big city……I, Randy (yeah, that’s me) am originally from Crescent, Oklahoma, a little town of 1600 give or take a few. Great place to grow up and still a great place to visit but how I got out of there without a serious “Okie” accent is still a mystery.
I love cars! Especially street rods, muscle cars, and classics. I’m currently rebuilding a 1937 Ford street rod that I’ve owned since college. My daily driver is a classic 1966 Ford F100 pickup. I’m a jack-of-all-trades and have even mastered a few.
My stage debut was the lead role in my high school Sr. class play, “Tell Me That You Love Me, Junie Moon” by D.D. Brooke. Oklahoma State University gave me a degree in Landscape Design but performing & directing campus shows & musicals often took priority over studying. Post-graduation, I dabbled in the “real world” but booking a few local commercials, print jobs & plays helped shape my decision to become an actor for real.
After a short stint in Dallas working as a commercial print model and studying acting, I bit the Big Apple, got an agent and booked print ads for BMW, AT&T,and Welbutrin, to name a few. My acting studies continued and soon I was booking roles on All My Children, Loving and some crazy small-budget films. Voice coach, Norma Garbo helped further develop my pop/rock/country vocals. I also led a teen youth group for kids from the Upper East Side and Spanish Harlem.
Ah, but the West Coast always beckoned. So, after 3 years in NYC, I packed up a ton of stories and life experience to head for sunny skies & beaches. I booked roles on shows like, The X-Files, The Unit, Las Vegas, Scandal, short films, horror films, more TV, more soaps, more plays, more singing and even a little songwriting.
“Re-purposed” is a big word in my creative vocabulary. I love going to the “alley boutiques,” thrift stores and yard sales in search of great treasures to blend into my next creation.
Five days a week at the gym keeps me fit and ready to play the bad guy, the good guy or shades of both. I believe that commitment, dedication & discipline are crucial but life also needs a big helping of dry wit and humble pie! My faith is strong, my friendships last and my family is awesome!
